Why I'm Moving from Packages to Memberships (And Why It's Better for You)

If you've been a client at Firm & Flourish for a while, you may have purchased session packages in the past. Prepaid bundles of sessions at a slight discount. They worked. But I've been thinking about this for a long time, and I believe there's a better model for both of us.

I'm introducing memberships. And I want to explain why, because it's not a business decision dressed up as a client benefit. It genuinely is a client benefit, and here's the reasoning.

The problem with packages

Packages seem simple: buy five sessions, save a little money, use them whenever you want. But in practice, here's what I've seen happen over and over.

A client buys a package with great intentions. They use the first two or three sessions consistently. Then life gets busy. A month goes by. Then two. The remaining sessions sit there, unused, and now there's a vague sense of guilt attached to them. When the client finally comes back, their body has lost the progress we built in those first few sessions, and we're essentially starting over.

Packages reward purchasing. They don't reward consistency. And consistency is the thing that actually matters for your body.

What consistency does for your body

Manual lymphatic drainage, buccal massage, and therapeutic bodywork all work better when they're regular. This isn't a sales pitch. It's physiology.

Your lymphatic system responds to consistent support. When you receive MLD regularly, your body learns to maintain better fluid balance between sessions. The improvements compound. Clients who come monthly hold their results longer than clients who come sporadically.

Buccal massage works the same way. The jaw tension you've been building for years doesn't release in one session and stay released forever. It takes consistent work to retrain those muscles, to break the clenching patterns, to teach your jaw a new normal. Clients who come regularly see lasting change. Clients who come once every few months get temporary relief.

Therapeutic bodywork follows the same principle. Your body adapts to regular treatment. Chronic tension patterns unwind over time, not all at once. Regular sessions mean I can build on the work from your last visit instead of spending the first 20 minutes getting you back to where we left off.

The research supports this too. Consistent bodywork produces measurably better outcomes for pain management, stress reduction, immune function, and recovery than the same number of sessions spread irregularly over a longer period.

How the membership works

It's simple. You choose a plan based on how often you want to come:

Monthly: One session per month

Biweekly: Two sessions per month

Weekly: Four sessions per month

Each plan is available for both 60-minute and 90-minute sessions. You pick the duration that fits your needs.

Your membership fee is automatically billed on the 1st of each month. You book your session (or sessions) whenever works for your schedule that month. You can use your session for any service in your chosen duration, so if you normally book MLD but want buccal this month, that's your call. Flexibility is built in.

If you can't make it one month, your session rolls over. I'll keep an eye on it, and if sessions start stacking up, we'll talk about pausing your membership rather than letting credits pile up.

You can pause for up to two months per year, cancel anytime with 30 days notice, and gift unused sessions to a friend or family member.

What you save

Members pay less per session than the regular price, and the savings increase with frequency. The more consistently you show up, the less you pay per visit. I'm not publishing the exact numbers here because I'd rather talk through which plan makes sense for your body and your budget, but the savings are real and meaningful, especially for clients who are already coming regularly.

What I save (being honest)

Here's the part most businesses don't say out loud: memberships benefit me too. Predictable recurring revenue means I can plan better, stress less about month-to-month fluctuations, and focus entirely on the work instead of wondering whether my schedule will fill. When my business is stable, my nervous system is stable. And when my nervous system is stable, the quality of every session is better. You benefit from that directly, even if you don't see it.

I also get to keep working with the clients I already love working with, consistently, instead of watching them drift away between package purchases. That matters to me.

What happens to existing packages

If you currently have unused sessions from a package you purchased, those are still yours. Use them. Nothing changes for existing package holders. This isn't a bait and switch.

Once your current package is used up, I'd love to talk about which membership plan might work for you going forward. Or don't. You can always book individual sessions at regular prices. The membership is an option, not a requirement.

Who this is really for

If you already come regularly, and you know your body benefits from consistent work, the membership just makes that easier and more affordable. It removes the friction of rebooking and repurchasing every time. It turns "I should probably book a massage" into "my session is already scheduled."

If you're newer and still figuring out what your body needs, start with individual sessions. Get a feel for the work. When you're ready to commit to a rhythm, the membership will be here.

The bottom line

Packages reward buying. Memberships reward showing up. Your body doesn't care how many sessions you purchased. It cares how many you actually received, and how consistently you received them.

I built this membership structure because I want to make it easier for you to do the thing that actually helps: show up regularly, let the work build on itself, and give your body the consistent support it needs to change.

If you want to talk about which plan makes sense for you, visit the Membership page or just ask me at your next session. No pressure. Just a conversation about what your body needs and how to make that sustainable.
