Prenatal & Postpartum Massage in Morris County, NJ
Because pregnancy changes your body, and so does everything that comes after
Nobody prepares you for what pregnancy actually feels like in your body. Not the books, not the apps, not the well-meaning advice from everyone who's been through it. The lower back pain that wakes you up at 3am. The sciatica that flares every time you stand. Ankles that don't look like yours anymore. Hip pain from a pelvis that's shifting to make room for someone else. The exhaustion that goes beyond tired into a place sleep can't reach.
And then you deliver. And somehow, nobody talks about what happens to your body after that either.
I work with women at every stage of this process, from early pregnancy through postpartum recovery. And the work is different at every stage, because your body is different at every stage.
Prenatal massage
Each prenatal session combines Swedish massage, therapeutic techniques, and manual lymphatic drainage based on what your body needs that day. The work I do at 20 weeks is different from what I do at 36 weeks. Your body is changing constantly, and the treatment changes with it.
You'll be positioned comfortably with pillows and full support so you can actually rest, which for a lot of my pregnant clients is the first real rest they've had in weeks.

What prenatal massage helps with:
The lower back and hip pain that comes from your pelvis expanding and your center of gravity shifting. Sciatica, which can flare intensely during pregnancy as the growing uterus puts pressure on the sciatic nerve. Swelling in your legs, ankles, feet, and hands. Neck and shoulder tension from the weight redistribution and postural changes. General muscle soreness and fatigue. Sleep disruption. Stress and anxiety, which are real and valid and deserve attention.
The lymphatic drainage component matters. During pregnancy, your blood volume increases by nearly 50%. Your lymphatic system is working overtime to process all of that additional fluid. When it can't keep up, the result is puffiness, heaviness, and swelling that most women are told is "just normal." It is common. That doesn't mean you have to suffer through it. MLD helps move that fluid, reducing the heaviness and giving your body some relief.
Prenatal Massage: 60 min, $165 Prenatal Lymphatic Drainage: 60 min, $175 (focused specifically on fluid management and swelling reduction)
Prenatal massage is available after the first trimester.
Postpartum massage
The work doesn't end at delivery. Your body just went through one of the most physically demanding experiences possible, and the recovery is real. Sore muscles from labor and delivery positions. Upper back and neck tension from feeding (whether breast or bottle, the posture is rough). Hormonal shifts that affect everything from your mood to your fluid retention. Abdominal soreness, whether from vaginal delivery or C-section. The emotional weight of suddenly being responsible for a tiny human while your body is still healing.
Postpartum massage is tailored to where you are in recovery. The techniques, pressure, and focus areas are all adapted based on how you delivered, how far postpartum you are, and what your body is telling me.
For C-section moms, I work around the incision site (not on it) and focus on managing the swelling, fluid retention, and compensatory tension patterns that develop when your core is recovering. Once your incision has healed (typically 6+ weeks with physician clearance), we can begin gentle scar tissue work if appropriate.
The lymphatic drainage component is especially important postpartum. Your body is processing the dramatic fluid shifts that happen after delivery, and MLD helps it do that more efficiently. Many new moms notice visible de-puffing and a significant reduction in heaviness after their first postpartum session.

You don't have to earn rest
I hear this from pregnant and postpartum clients all the time: "I feel guilty taking time for myself." Let me be direct about this. You are not taking time away from your baby or your family by caring for your body. You are maintaining the one resource everything else depends on. A mom whose back isn't screaming, whose swelling is managed, whose nervous system has had a chance to downregulate, is a mom who can show up better for everyone around her.
This isn't indulgence. This is maintenance.
I wrote about what I want every mom to know about prenatal and postpartum massage. It's the longer version of the conversation I have with every pregnant client who walks in wondering if she's allowed to take care of herself.
The space
My treatment room is in a private home studio on Round Hill Road in Kinnelon, NJ, in the woods of the NJ Highlands. There's no spa lobby, no strangers in the hallway, no ambient noise from other rooms. It's quiet, it's private, and for a lot of my pregnant and postpartum clients, it's the most peaceful hour they get all week.
I build 30 to 35 minutes between every appointment. You're never rushed in and you're never rushed out. If you need an extra minute to get settled on the table (and at 34 weeks, you might), that minute is there. It's not borrowed from your treatment time.
Every session is a full 60 or 90 minutes of hands-on work, and every session is with me personally. No rotating therapists, no inconsistency. Morgan every time.
