After delivery, your body is processing one of the most dramatic fluid shifts it will ever experience. Blood volume drops, hormones plummet, and your lymphatic system is working overtime to manage the transition. The result is swelling, puffiness, fluid retention, heaviness, and a body that feels like it belongs to someone else. Postpartum lymphatic drainage uses gentle, Vodder-style MLD to help your body process and release the excess fluid that accumulates after birth. This isn't a relaxation massage with some lymphatic movements mixed in. This is focused, clinical lymphatic drainage adapted specifically for the postpartum body. For vaginal deliveries, sessions can begin as soon as you feel ready. For C-section moms, I work around the incision site (not on it) and focus on the fluid retention, abdominal swelling, and compensatory tension patterns that develop while your core is healing. Once your incision has healed (typically 6+ weeks with physician clearance), we can begin gentle scar tissue work if appropriate.
